Katy Perry premieres her new video 'E.T.' featuring Kanye West

Katy Perry's new video for the song E.T., featuring Kanye West has finally premiered. It was directed by Floria Sigismondi, who is known for her unusual, out-of-this-world videos. Her previous work includes music videos for artists such as Bjork, Christina Aguilera, David Bowie, The Cure, The White Stripes, Marilyn Manson, Fiona Apple and Muse.

"Her trademark dilating, jittery camerawork, noticeable as early as her video for Marilyn Manson's "The Beautiful People", has been replicated by a great number of directors since. Her very innovative, but also very disturbing video works, located in sceneries she once described as "entropic underworlds inhabited by tortured souls and omnipotent beings", attracted a number of very prominent musicians." (IMDb)

Katy Perry's ivory couture gown in the video is by Viktor & Rolf.

Here's the much-hyped video:

Movies 2011: Tom Hanks is back with Larry Crowne

Tom Hanks returns to the big screen with a film that he directed, co-wrote and co-produced, called Larry Crowne, to be released in the US on July 1st, 2011.

The movie stars Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts, alongside Bryan Cranston, Cedric the Entertainer and Taraji P. Henson. For full cast and crew list, go here.

Trailer available via Yahoo.

Synopsis:

Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts reunite for a dramatic comedy about how the hard knocks from today’s recession inspire one everyday guy to undergo a personal reinvention: Larry Crowne.
Until he was downsized, affable, amiable Larry Crowne (Tom Hanks) was a superstar team leader at the big-box company where he’s worked since his time in the Navy. Underwater on his mortgage and unclear on what to do with his suddenly free days, Larry heads to his local college to start over. There he becomes part of a colorful community of outcasts, also-rans and the overlooked all trying to find a better future for themselves…often moving around town in a herd of scooters. In his public-speaking class, Larry develops an unexpected crush on his teacher Mercedes Tainot (Julia Roberts), who has lost as much passion for teaching as she has for her husband.
The simple guy who has every reason to think his life has stalled will come to learn an unexpected lesson: when you think everything worth having has passed you by, you just might discover your reason to live.

Rihanna for Vogue April 2011

Rihanna finally gets the long-awaited first cover shoot with US Vogue, posing for celeb photographer Annie Leibovitz. (Rihanna was supposed to appear in Vogue 2 years ago, but the cover shoot got cancelled due to the photo scandal which involved leaked nude photos of Rihanna.)

On getting in shape and filming Battleship (her upcoming movie) in Hawaii: "I hate going to the gym and doing it the old-fashioned way. I hate anything that's too straight forward, too routine, too familiar. I get bored really, really quickly...here were all these people, cameras, and huge cranes out in the middle of the ocean. And I got to do some stunts, which was incredible. I loved it - especially diving into the ocean.”

On becoming content with her body: “Over the holidays, and even during filming, I realized that I actually like my body, even if it’s not perfect according to the book. I just feel sexy. For the first time, I don’t want to get rid of the curves. I just want to tone it up. My body is comfortable, and it’s not unhealthy, so I’m going to rock with it.”

On fashion: “It’s become more about taking a risk. When I am putting looks together, I dare myself to make something work. I always look for the most interesting silhouette or something that’s a little off, but I have to figure it out. I have to make it me. I think that’s the thrill in fashion.”
