Movies 2011: Bridesmaids - is this the women's version of 'The Hangover'?

In times where good comedies are hard to find, a trailer that looks promising gets us all excited, especially when the movie has been getting positive buzz. Bridesmaids is an upcoming comedy, produced by Judd Apatow and directed by 'Freaks and Geeks' creator Paul Feig. The cast includes Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph (both of 'Saturday Night Live' fame), Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Ellie Kemper (The Office), Rose Byrne and Melissa McCarthy (Gilmore Girls).

Synopsis:

Picked as her best friend's maid of honor, unhappy and broke Annie (Kristen Wiig) looks to bluff her way through the expensive and bizarre rituals with an oddball group of bridesmaids. Her life unravels as she leads her best friend, Lillian (Maya Rudolph), and a group of colorful bridesmaids (Rose Byrne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper) on a wild ride down the road to matrimony. Annie's life is a mess. But when she finds out her lifetime best friend is engaged, she simply must serve as Lillian's maid of honor. With one chance to get it perfect, she'll show Lillian and her bridesmaids just how far you'll go for someone you love.
